MANILA, Philippines – More than a month after Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) ravaged several areas in Central Visayas, thousands of families are still in need of aid and resources to rebuild their lives.
According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), some 14.12 million people were affected by the typhoon while 3.88 million people were displaced. Latest government estimates have put the death toll at over 6,000 people.
In the first week after the typhoon struck, MovePH crowdsourced a list of relief operation centers where Filipinos everywhere could send their donations or volunteer their time.
Relief operations quietly continue in aid of the survivors of the typhoon. MovePH is compiling a new, updated list of different institutions and organizations that are accepting donations and volunteers. Please spread this information to your friends and family to remind each of us that there are those less fortunate who still need our help.
