MANILA, Philippines – James Balog is a man on a mission to show how the changing climate is making a big dent on the world. Working as a photographer for National Geographic, James went on assignment to the Arctic to capture the breathaking glaciers. What he discovered, however, was something that caused him to change his views on climate change.

He vowed to return to capture the raw impact of climate change on the Arctic glaciers. Armed with cutting-edge timelapse cameras, Balog and his team set off with the goal of sharing with everyone what they witnessed at the world’s edge.

In his documentary “Chasing Ice,” which first appeared on the National Geographic Channel, Balog captures sad yet stunning time-lapse videos of vanishing ancient glaciers and ice landscapes. Years of photography were compressed into minutes and thousands of years of mother nature’s work disappears in seconds.
