Basic dating tips

No matter how old you are, here are some dating essentials according to our 20-something dating aficionado:

• Be a decent person, respect boundaries.
• If you’re dating someone closeted, respect his or her decision. Do not out him or her.
• Remove the stigma against less conventional ways of meeting people (i.e., Online dating, speed dating)
• It’s possible to be friends with an ex, but you don’t have to force it. See what works for you.
• There’s nothing wrong with trying dating apps, but make sure you know what you’re doing. Online dating makes your dating pool bigger, but not necessarily better.
• Keep it simple, don’t play mind games.
• Know your priorities. Don’t let dating get in the way of school or your other relationships – with your friends, family, and yourself.

But overall, there are no fixed rules when it comes to dating. You craft your own formula, and you could change it as needed. Some people find dating fun, some take it more seriously. Others, however, would rather not get into it. And all of these are just fine. – Rappler.com
