MANILA, Philippines – The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is the 6th largest economy in the world with a population of around 630 million and a landmass of approximately 4.4 million square kilometers.

By 2030, Southeast Asia is projected to become the 4th largest economy. Despite this growth, however, one in 5 ASEAN citizens is living in poverty.

In the Philippines, a study shows there are already 164,473 social enterprises contributing to poverty alleviation. These innovative social enterprises have helped promote inclusivity in the country.

Last September at the Manila Social Good Summit, Rappler and its partners examined the purpose and role of innovation, technology, and social media in building an inclusive Philippines.

This time, we ask: How can we use technology and disruptive innovations to make Southeast Asia more inclusive and united?

Inclusive innovations for ASEAN
