#TheLeaderIWant forum goes to Cavite

#TheLeaderIWant forum goes to Cavite
Join us at the De La Salle University - Dasmariñas Alumni Auditorium on Tuesday, March 15, from 1 to 5 pm

MANILA, Philippines – With a voting population of around 1.8 million, Cavite is one of the Philippines’ vote-rich provinces.

Out of this population, around 66.87% or 1.2 million actually voted in 2013.

The province is a stronghold of the opposition. Although President Benigno Aquino III won in Cavite in 2010 with 492,328 votes, then Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay – standard bearer of the opposition United Nationalist Alliance – beat the administration’s bet Manuel Roxas II for the vice presidency by almost 200,000 votes. (WATCH: Will Binay win again in vote-rich Cavite?)

After 6 years of Aquino’s Daang Matuwid good governance promise, will Cavite remain a bailiwick of the opposition in the upcoming May polls?

Cavite is the next stop of Rappler’s #PHVote: The Leader I Want series.

The social news network’s civic engagement arm, MovePH, has been organizing the #PHVote forums across the Philippines to help empower Filipino voters in choosing the leaders the country deserves.

In 2015, MovePH went to DavaoCebu, and Cagayan de Oro. This year, LagunaEastern Visayas, Iloilo, and Baguio have hosted the event.

The Cavite leg of the #PHVote series will be held from 1 pm to 5 pm on Tuesday, March 15, at the De La Salle University – Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) Alumni Auditorium.

The event is held in partnership with the DLSU-D Communication and Journalism Department, the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE), Communication Society, Green FM, Heraldo Filipino, and Communication-Public Relations (COM-PR).
