Manual audit in Bacolod shows accurate results

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – The manual audit for a clustered precinct in the lone district of Bacolod showed accurate Automated Election Results (AER).

The Random Manual Audit (RMA) showed there that was an insignificant difference between the AER and the manual count.

Only 820 voted out of the 964 registered voters in the precinct.

The RMA for the Lone District of Bacolod was conducted in the Educational and Training System Center I. The precincts for the audit were Precinct Nos. 0293A, 0293B, 0294A, 0295A, and 0296A of Barangay 40.  The RMA Team was composed of 5 principals chosen by the RMA Committee.

Accurate, small variance

Results of the manual audit shows that the AES results in the precinct is accurate. There was a variance of 2 votes for Gubernatorial candidate Rolando Golez.

According to the auditors, a variance of one to 2 is tolerable, a variance of  3 to10 indicates that there may have been a discrepancy with the results of the PCOS machine and that of the audit.

For the senators, Ramon Magsaysay Jr had the most variance of 3 votes, the AES, 311, and the RMA, 314.

Eduardo Angara, Bam Aquino, JV Ejercito, Llasos Marwil, Koko Pimentel, Christian Señeres, and Cynthia Villar had a variance of 1.

Overvotes, undervotes and questionable marks

The results for the overvotes showed that there were 326 overvotes for the senatorial candidates, 10 for the members of the House of Representatives and 6 for Mayoral candidates.

There were 2,700 undervotes for the senatorial candidates, 51 for the house members, and 40 for the mayor.

The RMA showed that for the senatorial candidates, 39 ballots contained questionable marks, 6 for the candidate for the House of Representatives, and 7 for the mayoralty candidates. – Rappler.com
