MANILA, Philippines – Gone are the days when a record deal or a reality show was the only way to expose your music to a bigger audience. Thanks to YouTube and other social media, musicians are now able to promote their music to millions of people online.

Although many in the online music scene dub Jeremy Passion, 27, from San Francisco, USA, a YouTube sensation, he was already uploading and spreading his brand original soul acoustic music even before YouTube was born.

He goes by the stage name “Passion” and has over 235,000 subscribers on YouTube with over 36 million total views.

Other Fil-Ams like AJ Rafael, Melissa Polinar, Gabe Bondoc, among others, have been able to use platforms like YouTube and Myspace to make their music go viral, gathering millions of views on their YouTube channels.

His original songs “Lemonade” and “Already in Love” were released online in the early 2000s and is a favorite song to cover among other acoustic musicians.

Passion was in the Philippines last year with fellow Fil-Am YouTube artists Aj Rafael and Joseph Vincent for Gawad Kalinga’s Bayani Tour.
