From scavenger to sales director

MANILA, Philippines – Khun Chantha enjoys a comfortable living as a sales director for Mercedes Benz in his native Cambodia. A newlywed and father to a newborn baby, Khun feels he has enough to provide his family a good future.

Khun’s life today is a far cry from the dumps of Cambodia where he grew up. His childhood was miserable, growing up with an alcoholic father and hopeless mother. Nevertheless, he struggled to study, but would resort to scavenging garbage for food.

How did Khun obtain his ticket out of poverty, out of a life that seemed nearly impossible to get out of?
