Rappler is set to hold a workshop in Tawi-Tawi on June 8

MANILA, Philippines  How can the youth utilize social media in shedding light on issues surrounding their community?

On June 8, Rappler will tackle this question through a workshop with the theme “#MoveTawiTawi: Social media for social good.”

The workshop will be held at the Lepa Sandbar Resort in Barangay Pasiagan, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi from 8 am to 5 pm.

“#MoveTawiTawi: Social media for social good” aims to train local stakeholders how to use social media in their advocacies and help them communicate local issues – environment, peace and order, and tourism – better.

Various speakers will join the workshop to share their insights on different issues in Tawi-Tawi:

  • Lt Col Leo Frincillo PN(M) on peace and order
  • Terri Gonzales on responsible tourism
  • World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Director Dr. Felimon Romero on the environment
