Help! These schools need bond paper, printers for students’ learning modules
(UPDATED) 'Bond paper mo, module ko.' Several schools turn to the public for help in gathering funds for bond paper and printers.

Ahead of the opening of classes, teachers from public schools launched donation drives to raise funds for bond paper and printers which will be used for students’ learning modules.

When the Department of Education (DepEd) stood firm in reopening classes during the pandemic, parents, students and teachers found it hard to prepare for the shift to distance learning. (READ: #PisoParaSaLaptop: Students seek help for online learning)

While schools have allotted budget for the shift to distance learning, filed under school maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE), teachers say that this budget can easily be depleted due to the massive number of learning modules that need to be printed.

Teachers estimate that a module for a single subject features 10–12 pages per student.

Hoping to bridge this gap, schools and teachers mounted an online campaign named Bond Paper Mo, Module Ko, which seeks to bring in donations to help their respective schools have funds for bond paper and printers. These funds will be used for printing students’ learning modules.

Aside from learning materials, some of these calls for donations also aim to provide personal protective equipment and multi-vitamins to their students.

Those participating in the Bond Paper Mo, Module Ko have aligned the initiative with this year’s Brigada Eskwela, which usually starts before the opening of the classes. The Brigada Eskwela is a bayanihan initiative led by parents and teachers for the betterment of schools.

Despite these efforts of schools and teachers to make do with limited resources, some local DepEd offices issued advisories discouraging them to solicit donations on social media for the reproduction of printed modules.

Schools not covered by the advisory, however, continue to lead initiatives.

The following are some of the schools in need of donations for their shift to distance learning:
