WEBINAR: How to start and sustain a community pantry

Are you one of the many Filipinos who have initiated a community pantry in your barangay? Or are you planning to start one within your area?

Patricia Non started a small community pantry along her street in Maginhawa in Quezon City to benefit and send comfort to those most affected by the pandemic.

The idea is to allow people to give and take what they need by their own volition, without the intervention of third parties. Like a “good virus,” the simple initiative spread quickly as many Filipinos across the country replicated it within their own streets and neighborhoods.

Community pantries have sprouted in as far as La Union in the north and Iligan City in the south. Because of this, many wondered how the community can sustain this grassroots initiative.

To guide those who want to sustain the initiative, Non will be co-hosting a webinar at on Tuesday, April 20, at 9 pm. The webinar will tackle the ins and outs of starting and sustaining a community pantry. Frequently asked questions will be addressed, while participants can share their lessons and good practices.
