They took an oath to fight their motherland, if needed, because of their oath to another country.” Without naming Senator Grace Poe, Vice President Jejomar Binay took a swipe at the woman who is becoming a threat to his presidential bid, implying that Filipinos like her who pledged allegiance to other countries effectively pledged to go against the interests of the Philippines if needed. Critics are citing Poe’s former US citizenship – she had since reverted to Filipino citizenship – to question her qualification for the highest post.
