It will only be the fifth time in NATO history that members will meet under Article 4 of the founding treaty, which allows countries to ask for meetings when they believe that they are threatened. NATO confirmed that it would meet on July 28 upon Turkey’s request, following attacks against it near its southern border with Syria. Just last week, Turkish authorities turned over an alleged ISIS member, a nurse from Melbourne, to the government of Australia.
