JBC will vote on its shortlist Friday, August 10
MANILA, Philippines – Acting chief justice Antonio Carpio suspended work in the Supreme Court (SC), appellate courts, and all lower courts in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Thursday, August 9.
Appellate courts include the Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan and Court of Tax Appeals.
Executive judges have the discretion to suspend work for lower courts outside NCR.
The SC was scheduled to hold an en banc session on Thursday. To make up for it, Carpio scheduled a special en banc session on Friday (August 10, 9:30 am).
Also on Friday, the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) will vote on its shortlist for the position of chief justice. It will be held at 11 am. – Rappler.com
