From PH to China: More than 1.5m evacuated on path of typhoon Haikui

Although more rain is expected Thursday, better weather is coming soon for rain-soaked parts of Luzon as the Southwest Monsoon, which brought the rain, weakened slightly.  Tropical cyclone Haikui mixed with the monsoon, even if it was outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.  Now a full typhoon, it hit Shanghai, China, killing at least two people.  Chinese officials said more than 1.5 million people were evacuated along its path, including about 374,000 from a low-lying rural eastern edge of Shanghai.
