A pawnshop employee said that on August 12, Navarro returned to the pawnshop at around 8 pm. They both left an hour later.

He said the suspect’s girlfriend informed the police about his whereabouts, which led to his arrest on Thursday night.

Fajarito said that stolen jewelry had been recovered from the suspect’s aunt while only P70,000 ($1,515.97) of the P160,000 cash was recovered from the girlfriend.
