Presidential contender releases documents to prove Filipino citizenship

Senator Grace Poe, the front runner in the 2016 presidential elections, released on September 2 the documents she submitted to the Senate electoral tribunal that is hearing a disqualification case against her. Her citizenship is being questioned more than two years after she won the 2013 senatorial elections, but this qualification has become crucial in determining whether she can run for president next year. Poe used to be an American citizen, but took her oath again as a citizen of the Philippines a few years ago.
