MANILA, Philippines – The Judicial and Bar Council on Monday, October 26, released the names on its shortlists for the 6 vacancies for the post of associate justices of the Sandiganbayan.

In April this year, President Benigno Aquino III signed into law Republic Act 10660, strengthening the functions and structures of the anti-graft court to speed up hearings of cases. (READ: Aquino signs law expanding Sandiganbayan to 7 divisions) 

Under the law, 2 divisions will be added to the existing 5, all with 3 members each. 

The JBC nominated the following names for the 16^th Associate Justice of court. All names got 5 votes each:

1. Aguinaldo, Philip A.
2. Alhambra, Reynaldo A.
3. Cruz, Danilo S.
4. Pozon, Benjamin T.
5. Sandoval, Danilo S.
6. Timbang, Salvador Jr. V.

Here are the shortlisted names for the 17^th Associate Justice:

1. Corpus-Mañalac, Mary Ann E. (6 votes)
2. Mendoza-Arcega, Maria Theresa V. (6 votes)
3. Quimbo, Rodolfo Noel S. (6 votes)
4. Dizon, Ma. Antonia Edita Claridades (5 votes)
5. Soriano, Andres Bartolome (5 votes)

Here are the shortlisted names for the 18^th Associate Justice. All got 5 votes each:

1. Baguio, Celso O.
2. De Guzman-Alvarez, Ma. Teresa E.
