MANILA, Philippines – Before leaving the Philippines, spouses of some of the economy leaders from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation paid Intramuros a visit on Thursday, November 19 for a glimpse of the rich history and culture of Manila.
With a "walk through time" concept, the Intramuros tour included 4 stops: Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church, Casa Manila, and Ayuntamiento de Manila. (WATCH: VLOG: APEC spouses tour historic Intramuros)
Spouses of leaders from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore beat the intense Philippine heat and enjoyed the performances as well as the good food that the host country prepared for them.
Here is what happened at every stop.
At Fort Santiago, the women watched a 5-minute performance prepared by different dance groups in Manila.
They also witnessed the recreation of a traditional Spanish-Filipino family at Casa Manila.
SAN AGUSTIN CHURCH
The Hail Mary the Queen Children's Choir sang at San Agustin Church, another stop in the tour.
AYUNTAMIENTO DE MANILA
During a luncheon at Ayuntamiento, presidential sister and actress Kris Aquino also prepared a 20-minute program for the spouses with celebrity friends Derek Ramsey, Ogie Alcasid, Eric Santos, and Angeline Quinto.
