MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) –  Firefighters managed to confine what was previously a third-alarm fire near A. Mabini Street in Caloocan on early Thursday morning, January 28. 

According to Caloocan’s Fire Brigade Volunteers, a positive alarm was raised at around 11:23 pm of Wednesday, January 27.

The Caloocan City Fire Station unit left for the fire at 11:21 pm. Additional responders to the firefighting effort include the Bureau of Fire Protection and members of the Fire Brigade Volunteers.

The Caloocan City Fire Station told Rappler that the fire was confined as of 1:45 am, with Twitter account @Txtfire saying the fire was confined as of 1:40 am.  


A short video from Twitter user Edge Genciagan (@edge_genciagan) showed the fire blazing as firefighters tried to bring it down.

By 7:30 in the morning of January 28, the Caloocan City Fire Station declared a fire out. They are still investigating the cause of the fire and extent of the damage. – Rappler.com
