MANILA, Philippines – Former Pasay City Mayor Wenceslao “Peewee” Trinidad died on Friday afternoon, March 4. He was 82.

Trinidad died at around 2 pm due to complications from pneumonia, former Pasay Representative Jose Antonio Roxas told Rappler.

The wake will be held at 2458 Park Avenue in Pasay City, according to the former mayor’s son, Jon Delfin Trinidad. A 7 pm mass will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Trinidad served as Pasay City mayor from 2007 to 2010. He was succeeded by incumbent mayor Antonio Calixto, who beat Trinidad in the 2010 polls.

In 2015, the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan found both Trinidad and Roxas guilty of graft for allegedly favoring a contractor in the awarding of a P489.95-million contract for the construction of a public market in 2004.

They were sentenced to a minimum of 6 years to a maximum of 10 years in prison over the graft case.
