BAGUIO CITY – Baguio judoka legend Racquel Lorenzo-Salinas, 38, was seriously hurt while her companion Pamela Palmorez was killed in a violent incident while the pair were on their way up Mt Jambo in La Trinidad on Thursday, April 22.

Salinas, a physical therapist by profession and a resident of Camp 7, was accompanying 40-year-old Palmorez, an engineer from Laguna, when they were held up by two men wielding ice pics. One was described as a man in his 50s. The other was a minor.

Salinas gave up P2,000, but the pair was still stabbed and strangled. One of the suspects stabbed Palmorez 7 times in the neck and chest. Salinas was stabbed on the hand and neck. The perpetrators took away her wallet and mobile phone. 

Palmorez was dead on arrival at the hospital. Salinas was discharged Friday.
