Bahay Tuluyan, a children’s rights organization, strongly condemned president-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s plan to imprison parents of children found on the streets after curfew. The group said that many children go to the streets looking for ways to support their families, and that these kids are in very difficult circumstances. “Jailing parents for this will only cause severe trauma to children and deeply damage already-fragile families,” said Bahay Tuluyan.

Malacañang insiders told Rappler that some Palace staffers are disturbed and dismayed by a recent order issued to some departments under the Office of the President (OP). For Romulo Macalintal, the lead counsel of Camarines Sur 3rd District Representative Leni Robredo, the proclamation of winning senators and party-list groups “negates” the alleged irregularities in the vice presidential tally. Macalintal argued that the election system that recorded and transmitted the votes for senator and party list was the same used for the VP elections, which Robredo leads by a very slim margin.

The Iglesia ni Cristo is holding a massive worldwide evangelical event at the 55,000-seater Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan on Sunday, May 22. The Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) has asked Manny Pacquiao to decide by Friday, May 27, if he wants to compete in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
