Duterte: I decide alone based on gut feel

President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, responding to questions on how he arrived at his Cabinet picks, said that he alone makes the final decision based on gut feel. Duterte downplayed the influence of longtime friends and campaign team members, saying that they just “pretend” to advise him. He also told reporters that he checks the background of those that he is eyeing for the Cabinet.
