The Commission on Elections has yet to decide on the appeal of vice presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr to audit the automated system used in the May 9 elections. Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista said the poll body unanimously decided to defer action on Marcos’ appeal as they considered, among other things, the audit’s possible effects on the canvassing. But Bautista said the Comelec remains open to an independent audit.
