3 soldiers killed in Basilan ambush

MANILA, Philippines – Three soldiers were killed in an ambush staged by unidentified gunmen in Lamitan City, Basilan on Saturday afternoon, October 13.

Lamitan police identified the fatalities as Sergeant Ronald Danago, Corporal Adzhar Angkaya, and Private First Class Radzmer Jasim, all members of the Alpha company of the 32nd Infantry Batallion.

The soldiers died due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Initial investigation conducted by police revealed that the soldiers were riding motorcycles when they were fired upon by a group of unidentified men in Barangay Baas. – Rappler.com
