
MANILA, Philippines – Monday, September 12, has been declared a regular holiday by Malacañang in observance of the Islamic holiday Eid’l Adha.
President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation 56 on Monday, September 5, which set the holiday, Malacañang said.
Under Republic Act No. 9849, Eid’l Adha, one of Islam’s two major feasts along with Eid’l Fitr, shall be declared a regular holiday.
The declaration of the said holiday is based on the Islamic Calendar. This year, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos determined that Eid’l Adha be observed on September 12.
