TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Two drug suspects were killed when authorities raided a shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) laboratory in Cauayan City, Isabela, on Sunday afternoon, October 23.
Police Superintendent Chevalier Iringan, spokesperson of the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Cagayan Valley, identified one of the slain suspects as Kim Punzalan Uy in District 1 in Cauayan City. The other suspect is yet to be identified.
Iringan said the suspects allegedly resisted arrest, resulting in a firefight with the raiding team.
Uy is allegedly a member of the Ahong Group Drug Syndicate, together with Atong Lee and alias Lo Chi, who went into hiding prior to the raid.
Police recovered during the raid assorted chemicals and laboratory equipment used in the manufacturing of shabu.
