Thieves break into house of JR Rosales’ mother
Is the break-in related to the recent murders of the Rosales siblings?

MANILA, Philippines – While the family was busy attending to Petronio “JR” Rosales Jr’s wake, unidentified suspects broke into their house on Friday, October 28.

According to a close relative, JR’s cousin and JR’s wife Quennie Macamay Vivero went home to Sampaguita Street in Barangay Sta. Ana, Manila to pick up some items before buying groceries for the wake. (READ: JR and Lauren Rosales’ family: We’re scared)

It was 11:20 am when they found the door of their two-story house forcibly opened. They immediately called the barangay who also directed the complaint to the Sta Ana Police Station.

The authorities said two sets of 32-inch flat screen TVs and 3 laptops – two of which belonged to JR – were missing. All in all, the stolen items were worth about P200,000. The case was then put under the supervision of the Manila Police District (MPD) Theft and Robbery Section.

According to PO2 Christopher Razon, head investigator of the Rosales’ robbery case, the robbery may have taken place between 5:30 pm of October 27 and 11:15 am of October 28 before it was discovered by the family.

Razon said a birthday party was held in front of the Rosales house between 5:30 pm of October 27 and 3:00 am of October 28.

The investigators are still unsure about the identity of the suspects, but they have been reviewing the two CCTV cameras installed at the side corners of Sampaguita Street. Unfortunately, a tarpaulin was covering the CCTV view of the gate of the Rosales house when the crime happened. Razon said the tarpaulin has since been removed.

Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives were also in the area to lift latent fingerprints in the crime scene. As of early Saturday afternoon, October 29, they were still waiting for the results from the crime laboratory.

Razon also pointed out that the two cousins of JR who live in the ground floor of the two-story house were asked by authorities to have their own fingerprints taken, but they refused.

Investigation of the robbery is still ongoing. Razon gave assurances his team will be directly coordinating with Task Force Rosales if they find any information relevant to the murder cases.

“We can’t help but think that it might be related to the recent murder,” said the relative who requested anonymity, referring to the laptops of JR that were stolen. (READ: Remember Lauren Rosales? Her brother JR is dead too)

After Lauren Rosales’ death on July 21, JR immediately flew from the United Kingdom (UK) to coordinate with the Makati City Police District in the investigations. He was an IT-professional based in the UK, and he applied his skills throughout the investigation.

On Wednesday, October 19, he reported to PO3 Arnis Ojastro, head investigator of Lauren’s murder case, an attempt to hack Lauren’s Facebook account.

Senior Inspector Ronald Saquilayan, chief of the Criminal Investigation section, also disclosed that JR’s mother and wife mentioned a Facebook post that JR made in reference to his sister’s death.

The police have not yet accessed the said post because of privacy settings on Facebook, but according to Saquilayan, they are looking at the possibility that this might have triggered his murder. – Rappler.com
