MANILA, Philippines – The government is allocating more than P24 billion for projects related to disaster response and climate, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said Thursday.

According to the DBM, P24.435-B is allocated under the 2012 General Appropriations Act (GAA) for projects related to disaster preparation, climate change, and the environment.

The 2012 Calamity Fund has been allotted P7.5-B, an increase of P2.5-B from P5-B in 2011. The DBM said it is divided into 2: P4.85-B for repair and reconstruction, and P2.65-B for disaster aid and relief services.
