PNoy: ‘I am now a wimpy dictator’

MANILA, Philippines – Speaking to college students at a town hall meeting on Thursday, President Benigno Aquino III said that his critics seem to be confused on what to label him now, having alternately deemed him as weak or dictatorial.

Mr Aquino said that based on his image as projected by his critics, he had evolved from being a “spoiled brat” to a “wimpy dictator.”

The President made the remark in reply to questions in a town hall meeting with college students from all over Manila at La Consolacion College on Thursday, February 16.

“I have been called a spoiled brat, immature; there have been so many attacks against me. In 2010, I was said to be wimpy–very weak. In 2011, I was said to be a dictator. Come 2012, I am now a wimpy dictator,” he said.

The opposition had criticized Mr Aquino for being a weak leader, but since he openly supported the impeachment of Chief Justice Renato Corona, he had been accused of having dictatorial tendencies. – Rappler.com
