MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon “Pablo” maintained its strength and is set to make landfall in the next 12 hours in Surigao del Sur, as public storm warning signal #3 was extended to Camiguin on Monday, December 3.

In its 11 pm bulletin, weather bureau PAGASA noted that as of 10 pm Pablo (international codename: Bopha) was located 230 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (7.4°N, 128.3°E).

The typhoon is packing maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h and gusts of up to 210 km/h, and moving West at 26 km/h.

By Tuesday afternoon, Pablo will be in the vicinity of Bacolod, while a day later the weather disturbance is expected to be 180 km Northwest of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, and 370 km West of Metro Manila by Thursday afternoon.
