3 mild quakes hit Davao del Sur

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Three mild earthquakes rattled the province of Davao del Sur on Sunday evening, December 23, and on Monday morning, December 24, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

Phivolcs posted that a magnitude 5 earthquake struck 204 kilometers southeast of the town of Sarangani at around 8:52 Sunday evening with a depth of 33 kilometers.

At around 1:15 on Monday morning, another magnitude 4.5 quake was reported 240 kilometers southeast of Sarangani with a depth of 20 kilometers.

After 34 minutes, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck again 273 kilometers southeast of Sarangani with a depth of 22 kilometers.

No casualties and damage were reported as of posting.
