NCRPO cop shot dead in Manila
MANILA, Philippines – A policeman was shot dead in Manila on Tuesday morning, October 10.
Police Officer 2 (PO2) Joey Imperial of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) was shot dead in Sampaloc, Manila, at around 9 am, Manila Police District (MPD) homicide chief Senior Inspector Rommel Anicete confirmed in a text message to Rappler.
News reports said the policeman was supposedly reading a newspaper in front of his house when he was shot.
Imperial was brought to the United Doctors Medical Center (UDMC) where he was declared dead.
Investigators have yet to determine the motive for the attack on Imperial.
Imperial was initially believed to be part of the MPD or the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), but Quezon City top cop Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar clarified that Imperial was transferred to the NCRPO in 2014. – Rappler.com
