BATANGAS, Philippines – Two drug suspects were killed in an alleged encounter with authorities during a buy-bust operation in the town of Lian on Thursday night, May 3.

The operation was conducted by combined personnel of the Batangas Provincial Police intelligence unit, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Lian Municipal Police Station at about 9:50 pm on Thursday at Sitio Altura, Barangay Matabungkay, Lian.

According to reports, during the course of the operation, Lubugan sold two pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet to an undercover policeman.
