Densing appointed DILG usec, Ebarle named DOLE usec
MANILA, Philippines – Epimaco Densing III has moved up in the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
President Rodrigo Duterte appointed him interior undersecretary, a step above his previous post of assistant secretary, according to appointment papers signed on May 22 but released on Tuesday, May 29.
Densing became a familiar face for representing the DILG in the closure and rehabilitation of world-famous tourist spot Boracay. As assistant secretary, he had been put in charge of promoting federalism to local governments.
Densing takes the post vacated by John Castriciones who Duterte appointed agrarian reform secretary.
Duterte also appointed a new labor undersecretary, Renato Ebarle, who had once been a Malacañang undersecretary.
Ebarle is the father of Renato Victor Ebarle Jr who was killed in 2009 after a road altercation. The suspect, Jason Ivler, was convicted for the murder in 2015.
Duterte reappointed mining magnate Fernando "Ding" Borja and William Lima as his special envoys to China.
He also reappointed Dante Ang, chairman emeritus of newspaper Manila Times, as his special envoy for international public relations. – Rappler.com
