Mocha Uson to apologize to Kris Aquino, says Bong Go
'Actually, ang sabi ni Mocha sa akin, ang purpose ng kanyang pag-upload is pinapakita niya na both leaders...are well-loved,' says Special Assistant to the President Bong Go

MANILA, Philippines – Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson is expected to apologize to celebrity Kris Aquino over a Facebook post which had “hurt” the latter, Special Assistant to the President Bong Go said on Wednesday, June 6.

“She (Uson) will also apologize,” Go said during a hastily called press conference in Malacañang on Wednesday, June 6.

Earlier on Wednesday, Aquino announced that Go had apologized for Uson’s reposting of old footage of Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr moments before he was assassinated. It showed the late senator being kissed by two women before he disembarked from his plane at the Manila International Airport on August 21, 1983.

Uson made the post to defend Duterte from criticism over his act of kissing South Korea-based Filipino Bea Kim during a meeting with the Filipino community in South Korea over the weekend.

During the press briefing, Go said he and President Rodrigo Duterte himself got Uson to agree to apologize.

Sang-ayon siya sa amin ni Pangulong Duterte na magsorry siya (She agreed with me and President Duterte, to say sorry),” said the presidential aide.

Yet Go also defended Uson, claiming she did not mean to hurt anyone’s feelings.

“Actually, ang sabi ni Mocha sa akin, ang purpose ng kanyang pag upload is pinapakita niya na both leaders…are well-loved,” said Go.

(Actually what Mocha told me is the purpose of her upload that is to show that both leaders are well-loved.)

Duterte himself also apparently empathized with Aquino.

“Naintindihan naman po niya ‘yung punto rin ni Kris. At sabi niya na ang sabihin mo na (He understood the point of Kris. He said, say), ‘We are sorry for the incident,’” said Go.

On Tuesday, June 5, Aquino took to social media to slam Uson, saying the Palace official “crossed the line” when she dragged her parents in defending Duterte. That same day, the popular entertainment personality posted a video further challenging Uson to take her on. – Rappler.com
