DFA: July-September passport appointment slots still available
MANILA, Philippines – Passport appointment slots for July to September this year "are still available," the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on Monday, June 25.
"If you do not see available online appointment slots, it does not necessarily mean that they have been completely taken up," the DFA said in an advisory Monday afternoon.
"Please click refresh as online appointments become available from time to time," the DFA added.
"You can also check the next opening, as slots for July to September 2018 are made available at 12 noon and 9 pm Mondays to Saturdays, except holidays," it said.
In an earlier press conference, Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said the DFA is opening 10,000 slots every Monday to Saturday, except holidays.
On these days, the DFA is opening 5,000 slots at noon and 5,000 more at 9 pm.
The DFA has been criticized by netizens for quickly running out of passport appointment slots after these have been made available.
An example was when the DFA opened 50,000 passport appointment slots at noon on June 14.
A check by Rappler showed that the DFA already ran out of passport appointment slots at around 2:50 pm on that day, but the DFA on Monday recommended clicking "refresh" from time to time. – Rappler.com
