Isagani Yambot dies

MANILA, Philippines – Isagani Yambot publisher of the Philippine Daily Inquirer has passed away. Yambot died of a heart attack Friday, March 2 following a bypass surgery last week. He was 77.

A veteran journalist, Yambot is a former Executive Editor of the Malaya newspaper before he was appointed Publisher of the Philippine Daily Inquirer in 1994. 

Rappler spoke with Yambot at Media Nation in October 2011 where he spoke about the grand tradition of journalism. Watch the full interview below:
