Senate President Vicente Sotto III also ordered work at the chamber suspended starting 11 am. He said they cannot suspend immediately “because there are some pending checks needed by some Senate offices.”

The House of Representatives also suspended work, so there will be no more session in the afternoon. Scheduled hearings, however, will continue.

Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio also suspended work in all courts in the National Capital Judicial Region, including for the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals, and Sandiganbayan starting noon. Executive judges in other areas “may exercise their discretion to suspend work.”
