MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte again cracked rape jokes as he pardoned all outstanding punishments of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) underclassmen.

During the graduation rites of the PMA Mabalasik Class of 2019 in Baguio City on Sunday, May 26, Duterte signed a pardon for second class, third class, and fourth class cadets.

He then joked that their offenses included rape.

“The number one is for rape. Putang ina. Ang number two is drugs with rape with robbery. Para sa Muntinlupa ‘to? Pangatlo, multiple rape of the women of Baguio, the beautiful ones,” the President said.

Duterte then asked who committed the cases.

“Pirmahan ko na?… Sino ang nagkasala? Taas kamay, hindi ako pipirma nito…. Show to me your face,” he said.

The President wished the pardoned underclassmen “better luck next time.”

Before that, Duterte in his speech reminded the PMA graduates to uphold the values of honor and respect.

Duterte is infamously known for his rape remarks and disregard for women in his speeches. In the past, the President refused to apologize over his remarks and attributed these to the beauty of women. He also insisted he is protected by the right to free expression.
