27 youth campers rushed to Benguet hospital due to severe diarrhea
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Twenty-seven youth campers attending a Christian camp in La Trinidad, Benguet, had to be rushed to the hospital after suffering from diarrhea apparently caused by champorado.
Ranilyn Lozañes of the Benguet General Hospital said the campers were admitted Thursday morning, May 30, after they suffered from severe diarrhea. They reportedly ate champorado for their afternoon snack.
La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda said the local government will shoulder their medical expenses.
Salda also said they will investigate the matter.
Organizers of the Salt and Light Youth Camp 2019 at the grounds of the Philippine Nazarene College decided to end the camp which was supposed to run until Friday, May 31. – Rappler.com
