The Palace says government is taking measures to tighten the security of its websites after another hacking incident

MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang said Sunday, April 14 the government is taking measures to strengthen the security of its websites after another hacking incident.

“The news on the hacking of the PNA (Philippine News Agency) site had been released by a hackers group and shared by others on Facebook,” presidential spokesman Herminio Coloma reported.

The Chinese flag and message, “China Hacker EvilShadow Team, We are evil shadow. We are the team. We have our own dignity China Hacker Lxxker,” recently appeared on the PNA home page.

This was not the first time that the site was hacked. The site was defaced during the height of the tensions between China and the Philippines over Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal last year.

Coloma said, “We continue to adopt measures that will strengthen the security of our websites.”

He added the PNA site is now fixed and they are investigating the incident. – with a report from Reynaldo Santos Jr/Rappler.com
