Joker Arroyo clarifies prosecution’s line of questioning

MANILA, Philippines – Senator Joker Arroyo clarifies from prosecution the purpose of their line of questioning on former Manila Mayor Lito Atienza.

Joker Arroyo on prosecution’s line of questioning: Supposing there was irregularity in sale of Manila lot, in what part of articles of impeachment will that be relevant?

Lead prosecutor Rep. Niel Tupas, Jr. responds, prosecution’s theory was that the money was misappropriated by Mrs. Cristina Corona, deposited in her personal account. If money ended up with Chief Justice Renato Corona, he should have declared it in his SALN. It has never been declared in SALN.

Tupas says money was deposited to the personal account of Mrs Corona. Arroyo responds, Mrs. Corona is not being charged here, it’s Chief Justice Corona.

Tupas: Our position is even the personal property of the wife should be included in the SALN. What we said was Mrs. Corona treated money as her own and she has to include it in SALN.
