The Philippine military uses state-of-the-art guided missiles known as smart bombs to go after Jemaah Islamiyah terrorists in the Sulu. The attack in February 2 was the result of 15 months of training and technology transfer from the United States to Filipino forces. The bombs are equipped with GPS and thermal imaging.
