MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – There have been no casualties so far as tropical storm Gorio (international codename Rumbia) continues to move towards the West Philippine Sea.

Several hundred families were evacuated in 10 barangays in Bicol as Gorio passed the area Saturday, June 29, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Sunday, June 30.

The NDRRMC reported that as of 6 pm, Sunday, a total of 337 families with 1,685 people are being served in evacuation centers in Region V due to tropical storm Gorio. 

The agency added that out of the 386 families, 324 are “inside 10 evacuation centers” while 44 others with 220 people are “outside.”

Also, at least 5 separate disaster-related incidents were reported in Regions 4-A and 5:

  • landslide in Masbate;
  • flooding in Occidental Mindoro;
  • tornado in Quezon Province;
  • uprooted trees and fallen post in Antipolo City;

There were also reports of power interruptions in parts of Laguna, Quezon, Romblon, and Marinduque.

Minor flooding incidents were also reported in parts of Makati and Mandaluyong overnight.
