PNP moves closer to 1 to 1 police to gun ratio

The Philippine National Police (PNP) came one step closer to a 1 is to 1 police-gun ratio on Tuesday, July 2, after the Philippine government distributed 22,000 Glock pistols, the first tranch of new guns procured by government. President Benigno Aquino III says the P1.2 billion purchase is part of the police force’s Capability Enhancement Program, which aims to improve the 148,000-strong PNP’s capability to fight crime.
