If travelers depend on websites like TripAdvisor to check unbiased comments of fellow travelers, patients have similar websites to check how their doctors fare in the eyes of their own patients and peers. In IwantGreatCare, the new watchdogs are the consumers, not the traditional healthcare regulators. It was set up by Dr. Neil Bacon, a “doctorpreneur” who wanted to tap the power of the internet to empower patients and change the future of doctor-patient relationship. Netherlands-based AYA4 is another power-on-the-web display. It is meant for cancer patients who wold like to tap experts beyond the medical field about their diseases.
