Hiya Hassan and 5 John Does were charged with frustrated murder for the bombing in Puerto Princesa City

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Philippines – The police on Monday, April 9, filed 4 counts of frustrated murder charges against Hiya Hassan, principal suspect in the April 5 bombing in this city that wounded 2 residents.

Police Chief Inspector Grace Vic Gumba of Task Group Hunter made the announcement, adding 5 ‘John Does’ were charged.

The 63-year-old Hassan, a former member of the Moro National Liberation Front, was arrested Sunday, April 8, based on technical surveillance that traced warning text messages to the mobile phone of his daughter, a minor. His daughter was also put under police custody Sunday afternoon but was eventually released in the evening.
