(UPDATED) 3 killed, 16 hurt in N. Cotabato blast

A bus traveling from Tacurong City to Cagayan de Oro exploded, killing 10 and wounding 2, the military said.

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – A bus explosion in Carmen, North Cotabato killed 3 passengers and wounded 16 others, reports reaching the Eastern Mindanao Command said.

The EastMincom corrected its earlier information that said 10 passengers were killed and 5 were wounded. At 12.43pm Wednesday, April 11, the public information officer of EastMincom texted a correction, saying only 2 people were killed in the blast. The command sent its apologies.

The reports said the Rural Transit Bus with plate number KVS 740 was travelling from Tacurong City to Cagayan de Oro when the blast occurred at around 10.25 am Wednesday, April 11. The bus was then at the bus terminal of Carmen town in North Cotabato.

EastMincom identified the two fatalities as Dima Causing, Rona Mae Causing, and Gladzin Himpiso. The 16 injured passengers were brought to the Kabacan medical center. – Rappler.com
